Who am I?
Well, my name is Josh Stodola and I am 22 years of age. First of all, I want to thank you for checking out my blog. I was born and raised in the beautiful heartland of America - Nebraska (go ahead, laugh it up). I am still currently living there. I am an avid pool player and I strongly believe that billiards is the greatest game Earth has to offer. I play on a league once a week. I am a beer drinker by nature. My beer of choice at this time is Heineken, but I enjoy many other brews as well. While we're on the subject of consumption, I must mention that I love to eat food… all the time. I have a sky high metabolism and I try to take advantage of that as much as possible. To me, a good meal consists of meat and potatoes, as well as another vegetable or a salad. With that said, I am convinced that vegetarians are messed up in the head. I really love spending time behind a computer, and I always have. I guess I was born to be a nerd, what the hell. I can admit that when I go more than 24 hours without one, I can get a little cranky. I do, however, take a week off each August and spend time with nature, completely computerless. That's probably the only reason I still speaking English instead of binary. I enjoy watching movies. My collection is rather extensive. I also have a ton of the classic TV collector sets such as Seinfeld, Cheers, Married With Children, Home Improvement, and many more. Most of the newer TV shows these days totally suck, so I stick to the classics. And who doesn't love watching a good game of football on weekends? I sure do, and I will forever be fans of the Huskers and Broncos! I also enjoy hunting and fishing. I typically hunt for pheasants but I have gone turkey hunting several times in the past. As far as fishing, it just doesn't get any better than the beautiful waters in Minnesota. And that's me, for now…
I Love Web Development
I have been building stuff and deploying it to the web for about 10 years. I started out at a young age, learning how to use various HTML tags. When I finally figured out tables, I felt like the world was at my fingertips. Then CSS became very popular, and I stumbled upon some Javascript. All of these new Internet technologies seemed really promising and I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I got to that crazy age, got away from it all, and decided getting into trouble was a little more fun. But then in my junior year of high school I took a computer programming class (it was VB6) and it re-kindled my programming flame. While the rest of the class napped, I was writing my own game! I ended up in college learning VB.NET, Java, COBOL, CICS, JSP/Servlets, XHTML, Javascript, and SQL. Learning ASP.NET after college was a piece of cake. Visual Studio really makes it simple, it was only a matter of reading a couple short tutorials and I was hooked. My code is legendary for being clean and easy to interpret, from the markup to the stylesheet all the way up to the server-side code. I am a guru in client-side web development, which is just fancy terminology for the modern combination of Javascript, CSS, XHTML, and DHTML. If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch.
